What Is Aragon

Some in the crypto community are calling the Aragon project a sleeping giant. Could they be correct or wrong? Lets find out below.

What Is Aragon (ANT)?

Aragon is a decentralized platform built on the Ethereum network that offers a flexible way to develop and manage dapps, cryptoprotocols, and decentralized autonomous organizations (DAO). The ANT ERC-20 token enables Aragon’s platform users to govern it.

The native cryptocurrency of Aragon is ANT.

How Does Aragon Work?

A DAO allows users to collectively establish a governed group of computer codes, as opposed to being controlled by a single person. Users are required to hold the asset token to participate in elections on proposals that affect a DAO, including the way participants must spend their funds collectively. They can also trade ANT to acquire either ANJ or ARA, two other coins that are associated with the Aragon ecosystem.

Users (jurors) who have ANJ tokens are able to review arguments and cast votes to resolve certain matters. The number of tokens a user has in ANJ affects the chance that the juror will be chosen. When a case is resolved, jurors are rewarded with reissued ANT coins automatically, and the DAO updates system rules and outcomes on the software.

The History Of Aragon

The Aragon network was developed in 2016 by Spaniards Luis Ivan Cuende and Jorge Izquierdo, and was launched on the Ethereum blockchain two years later.

Is Aragon A Good Investment?

ANT, the Aragon token entered the market in May 2017 and quickly rose from $1.40 to above $4. Then a few months later the momentum faded and the value decreased to the $1 mark.

In January 2018 the price once again hit all time highs of $6.70 but it didn’t last long, as a few months later it was below $1. It stayed below $1 for almost the entire of 2019, and when 2020 came around due the volatility in the crypto market helped push ANTs price right up with it hitting all time highs consecutively for the next 3 years. Right now the price is just above $1, which makes you wonder if in the future ANT will see another all time high.
